Point Mallard beats Sugar Land 7-3 as Dunn gets hat trick

Justin Dunn lifted Point Mallard to a 7-3 victory with a hat trick against Sugar Land.

Dunn notched his first tally 7:24 into the second period. He then added goals at 19:11 into the second and at 10:08 into the third.

Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 16:28 into the third period. Three fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts.

Point Mallard kept Sugar Land's goalie busy throughout the game, and Kevin Mackey made 31 saves on 38 shots. Point Mallard surpassed its usual scoring output this season. This season, Point Mallard averages 4.6 goals per contest.

Point Mallard additionally got points from Jake Cox, who also finished with one goal and three assists, Josh Hamilton, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, and Jake Champaign, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Point Mallard also got a goal from Justin Clark as well. More assists for Point Mallard came via Stephen Coulter, who had two and Ian Precht, Cody Thomas, Cooper Seedott, and Matt Darnell, who contributed one each.
