Nashville erases deficit to stun Peoria, 5-4

Nashville climbed out of a two-goal hole to beat Peoria, 5-4.

Nashville never led in the game until netting the game winner. Nashville fell behind 2-0 after a goal by Peoria's Michael Butera at 12:50 in the first period. Nashville knotted things up at 4-4 on a power play goal by Kyle Van Wyk at 2:28 in the third period. Nashville netted the game winner on the power play at 12:35 in the third period on a goal by Van Wyk.

Nashville got the win behind a great game by Andrew Kluge, who had one goal and three assists. Kluge scored 23 seconds into the second period to make the score 2-2. Trent Kulczyk picked up the assist.

Nashville's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on seven Peoria power plays. Nashville got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game. Nashville could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 24 minutes in penalties during the game.

Nashville also got points from Kulczyk, who also had one goal and one assist. Nashville also had goals scored by Peter Cabala and Nicholas Redmon, who each put in one. More assists for Nashville came via Dylan Schmidt, who had three and Riley McCann and Logan Orem, who each chipped in one.

Peoria struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as it finished the game with 36 penalty minutes for eight opposing power plays.

Peoria was helped by Thomas Kolaz, who grabbed one goal. Kolaz scored 6:00 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Peoria. Jason Hoehn assisted on the tally. Peoria additionally got points from Andrej Buchko, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Peoria also got a goal from Levi Armstrong as well. In addition, Peoria received assists from Jack Power Wayvon, Ben Koester, and Jacob Coovert, who contributed one each.

Ricky Gonzalez rejected 22 shots on goal for Nashville. Peoria's Ross Lipic stopped 18 shots out of the 23 that he faced.
