Breezy Point falls to North Iowa in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

North Iowa's Carmen Dalesandro scored 17:09 into overtime to beat Breezy Point, 4-3 (OT).

Tommy Stang had two goals to lead North Iowa to victory. Stang found the back of the net on the power play 9:16 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Breezy Point and again while 12:26 into the third to make the score 3-3.

North Iowa was held below its usual level of production. North Iowa averages 6.6 goals per game. North Iowa's offense rang up 45 shots on Breezy Point's net.

North Iowa also got points from Dalesandro, who also racked up one goal and one assist. North Iowa also had goals scored by Ryan Durant and Brett Gravelle, who each put in one. In addition, North Iowa received assists from Tom Lindgren, Alec Nichols, and Marshall Barnes, who each chipped in one and Adam Orn and Connor Bump, who contributed two each.

Breezy Point was led by Josh Laven, who finished with one goal and one assist. Laven scored on the power play 15:13 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Breezy Point. Breezy Point had taken the advantage when North Iowa's David Johnson got sent off for delay of game. Austin Langworthy picked up the assist. Others who scored for Breezy Point included Jake Tomkowiak and Tyler Larwood, who scored one goal each. More assists for Breezy Point came via Ryan Mezera, who had one.

Johnson rejected 22 shots on goal for North Iowa. North Iowa incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors. Breezy Point's Magnus Lindhe stopped 41 shots out of the 45 that he faced. Breezy Point incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
