Frank leads Bozeman to shutout victory over Helena

Stephen Frank recorded a shutout against Helena as Bozeman picked up a 7-0 win.

Steven Nisbet had two goals and two assists to lead Bozeman. Nisbet scored the first of his two goals at 8:37 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Bozeman. Elliott Hopkins picked up the assist. Nisbet's next tally made the score 3-0 Bozeman with 8:57 left in the second period. Bozeman had gotten the advantage when Helena's Brandon Mills was sent off for holding. Gunnar Mogck provided the assist.

Bozeman forced Helena's netminders to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, finishing with 36 shots and forcing 29 saves. Grant Martens made 29 stops and Alex Kruger made zero. Bozeman stifled Helena's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Bozeman featured an improved defense during the game. Bozeman allows 2.8 goals per game. Bozeman bested its season scoring average. Bozeman averages 3.9 goals per game.

Bozeman also got points from Hopkins, who also registered one goal and one assist and Kegan Couture, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Dylan Michaud also scored for Bozeman. In addition, Bozeman received assists from Nicholas Thompson, who had four and Liam Millar, Dalton Rickard, Kyle Klatt, Brock Loser, and Kyle Amundson, who contributed one each.

Helena forced its penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up nine minors and one major for 53 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 26.0 minutes per game Helena had been spending in the box. Helena did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. Helena averages 3.7 goals per game. Helena kept Bozeman's goalie busy throughout the game, and Frank made 44 saves on 44 shots.

Bozeman incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Helena registered zero goals on five power play opportunities. For Helena, Matt Blassic and Jarrett Scheibel were ejected from the contest.
