Twin City blows out Rochester, 6-2

Twin City had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 6-2 win over Rochester.

Twin City got the win behind a great game by Ryan Hartzell, who had one goal and two assists. Hartzell scored 2:06 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Twin City. Zak Lambrecht provided the assist.

Twin City pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 16 penalty minutes.

Twin City forced Rochester goalie Sam Nelson to work between the pipes, taking 55 shots. Twin City got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

Twin City also got points from Lambrecht, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Jared Erickson, who also had one goal and one assist. Twin City also had goals scored by Marc Sahli, Trevor Woytcke, and Kyle Wagner, who scored one goal each. More assists for Twin City came via Tristan Mayer, who had two and Paul Stehr, Nicholas Campbell, Alex Egle, Jay Paul, and Bennett Witta, who each chipped in one.

Rochester was led by Trey McMillen, who racked up one goal. McMillen scored on the power play 5:02 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Twin City. A charging penalty on Egle had put Rochester on the power play. Rochester also got a goal from Colby DeCarlo as well. In addition, Rochester received assists from Dominik Bogdzuil and Ian Smyth, who contributed one each.

Gunnar Howg recorded 27 saves for Twin City. Twin City registered one goal on four power play opportunities. Sam Nelson made 49 saves for Rochester on 55 shots. Rochester incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
