Behind two goals from Michael Tratar and one goal Chas Distelrath, Metro downed Pittsburgh 5-2.

Tratar scored the first of his two goals at 3:29 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Metro. Matt Dempsey assisted on the tally. Tratar's next tally made the score 2-1 Metro with 7:59 left in the second period. Metro had gotten the advantage when Pittsburgh's Ryker Barber was sent off for boarding. Mark Vansaw provided the assist. Distelrath scored 1:30 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Metro. Vansaw picked up the assist.

Metro pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 16 penalty minutes.

Pittsburgh was unable to stop Metro from sending pucks towards the net, and Metro eventually piled up 43 shots on goal.

Others who scored for Metro included Jacob Drinkard and Spencer Graham, who each put in one. In addition, Metro received assists from Mathias Tellstrom, who had two and Marc Schwartz, Cam Schwartz, Jacob Gleason, Robert Flannery, and Dylan Naumovski, who each chipped in one.

Pittsburgh's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

Pittsburgh was led by Adam Schaffer, who had two goals. Schaffer scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 10:07 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Pittsburgh earned a power play opportunity when Jason Newel was put in the box for elbowing. Barber provided the assist. Schaffer's next tally on the power play made the score 2-2 with 19:09 left in the third period. Vincent Casale picked up the assist. Other players who recorded assists for Pittsburgh were James Stiles, who had one.
