LA Jr. Kings (MM) vanquishes Anaheim Jr. Ducks (MM) in shootout, 4-3 (1-0 SO)

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as LA Jr. Kings (MM) defeated Anaheim Jr. Ducks (MM) in a shootout 4-3 (1-0 SO).

The shootout featured six attempts between both teams.

LA Jr. Kings (MM) came back from a one-goal deficit to capture the victory. LA Jr. Kings (MM) fell behind 3-2 after a goal by Anaheim Jr. Ducks (MM)'s Matthew Poindexter at 6:12 in the second period. LA Jr. Kings (MM) knotted things up at 3-3 on a goal by Connor Nobach at 9:18 in the second period.

LA Jr. Kings (MM) pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 26 penalty minutes.

LA Jr. Kings (MM) surpassed its usual scoring output this season. This season, LA Jr. Kings (MM) averages 1.9 goal per contest. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

LA Jr. Kings (MM) was led by Auston Ghirardelli, who tallied one goal and one assist. Ghirardelli scored on the power play 15:30 into the first period to make the score 2-1 LA Jr. Kings (MM). LA Jr. Kings (MM) had gotten the advantage when Anaheim Jr. Ducks (MM)'s Bryce Hunt was sent off for slashing. Austin Bowkus picked up the assist. LA Jr. Kings (MM) also got a goal from Jett Shibata as well. In addition, LA Jr. Kings (MM) received assists from Sean Cullinane, Ryan Ng, and Austin Koss, who each chipped in one.

Anaheim Jr. Ducks (MM) kept LA Jr. Kings (MM)'s goalie busy throughout the game, and Robert Jacobson made 28 saves on 31 shots.

Anaheim Jr. Ducks (MM) also got points from Hunt, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Blaise Johnson also scored for Anaheim Jr. Ducks (MM). Other players who recorded assists for Anaheim Jr. Ducks (MM) were Julian Timba, who had one and Andre Ghantous, who had two.

LA Jr. Kings (MM) registered one goal on eight power play opportunities. Rob Ivy took the otl and made six saves before being replaced by Alexander Frosh who made 15 saves. Anaheim Jr. Ducks (MM) incurred 42 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
