Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Brookings Blizzard defeated the Minot Minotauros in a shootout 5-4 (2-1 SO).

The shootout featured eight attempts between both teams. Minot's shootout goal was scored by Christian Mohs. Brookings' other shootout goal was scored by Mikael Hakkarainen.
