Huge game by Herdt boosts Bismarck over Austin, 6-3

The Bismarck Bobcats' Aaron Herdt had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing two assists in his team's 6-3 win over the Austin Bruins.

Herdt found the back of the net 5:14 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Bismarck and again while 19:50 into the second to make the score 4-1 Bismarck.

Bismarck's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Austin power plays. The Bobcats forced Austin goalie Jacob Berger to work between the pipes, taking 31 shots.

Bismarck additionally got points from Travis Wood, who also tallied two goals and two assists. Bismarck also got a goal from Harrison Aide as well. In addition, Bismarck received assists from Joe Tyran, who had one, Pieter Von Steinbergs, who had two, and Willie Brown, who had five.

The Bruins were helped by Jan Stefka, who racked up one goal. Stefka scored 6:33 into the third period to make the score 4-3 Bismarck. Austin Rueschhoff provided the assist. Austin also had goals scored by Griffin Slightam and Logan Haskins, who each put in one. More assists for Austin came via Paul OConnor, Justin Misiak, Gilbert Gabor, and AJ Drobot, who contributed one each.

Bismarck's Hunter Shepard stopped 20 shots out of the 23 that he faced. The Bobcats incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Berger recorded 25 saves for Austin. The Bruins incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
