Aston erases deficit to stun New Jersey, 3-2Middletown Ice World Fri, Sep 18, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
Aston climbed out of a two-goal hole to beat New Jersey, 3-2. Aston never led in the game until netting the game winner. Aston was down 2-0 after a goal by New Jersey's Andrew Durham at 7:30 in the first period. Aston knotted things up at 2-2 on a goal by Gvido Jansons at 8:48 in the first period. Aston got the game winner at 11:19 in the second period on a goal by Jansons. Aston was sparked by Drew Blackman, who registered one goal. Aston excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Aston forced New Jersey goalie Jack Berry to work between the pipes, taking 33 shots. Aston also got a goal from Andrew Zerban as well. In addition, Aston received assists from Tobias Kircher, Connor Jean, Austin Swingle, and Chris Deprez, who contributed one each. New Jersey was helped by Keegan Miller, who grabbed one goal. Miller scored 5:40 into the first period to make the score 1-0 New Jersey. More assists for New Jersey came via Joseph Schuler, who had one. Trevor Micucci recorded 22 saves for Aston. Aston incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. New Jersey's Berry stopped 30 shots out of the 33 that he faced. New Jersey incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
