Topeka erases deficit to stun Wichita Falls, 4-3

The Topeka RoadRunners climbed out of a two-goal hole to beat the Wichita Falls Wildcats, 4-3.

Topeka let multiple leads slip away before eventually digging out of a two hole to pick up the win. The RoadRunners took a 3-2 advantage on a goal by Luka Maver at 9:47 in the second period. Topeka went down 2-0 after Wichita Falls' Austin Albrecht put the puck home at 5:17 in the first period. After tying things up at 3-3 on a goal by Adam Goodsir at 19:49 in the second, the RoadRunners got the game-winner from Andrew Hart at 8:24 in the third period.

Maver was all over the ice for Topeka, as he tallied two goals in the win.

Topeka also got points from Ryan OConnor, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Hart, who also racked up one goal and one assist. In addition, Topeka received assists from Cam Strong, who had two and Beau Dommer, Max Harper, and Quinn Preston, who contributed one each.

The Wildcats' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Topeka power plays. Wichita Falls forced the RoadRunners goalie Vladimir Cibulka to work between the pipes, taking 31 shots.

Wichita Falls additionally got points from Goodsir, who also had one goal and one assist. Wichita Falls also got a goal from Jonathan Lazarus as well. More assists for Wichita Falls came via Noah Gilreath, Ben Lown, Max Reisinger, and Aleksi Poikola, who each chipped in one.

Cibulka recorded 28 saves for Topeka. The RoadRunners incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Julian Sime made 26 saves for the Wildcats on 30 shots. Wichita Falls incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
