California Titans 16U vanquishes Meijer AAA 16U in shootout, 4-3

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as California Titans 16U defeated Meijer AAA 16U in a shootout 4-3.

The shootout featured 12 attempts between both teams. Meijer AAA 16U's shootout goal was scored by Alex Schneider. In addition to the clincher, California Titans 16U got a shootout goal from Jake Pisarcik.

California Titans 16U overcame a one-goal deficit to capture the victory. California Titans 16U trailed 3-2 after a goal by Meijer AAA 16U's Max Hendrickson at 11:20 in the third period. California Titans 16U tied things up at 3-3 on a power play goal by Justin LeBouef at 12:32 in the third period.

Meijer AAA 16U was unable to stop California Titans 16U from sending pucks towards the net, and California Titans 16U eventually piled up 32 shots on goal.

California Titans 16U also got points from Shane Thesman, who also finished with one goal and one assist. In addition, California Titans 16U received assists from Dylan San Agustin, who had one and Daylon Mannon, who had two.

Meijer AAA 16U forced California Titans 16U goalie Nicholas Kaltala to work between the pipes, taking 39 shots.

Meijer AAA 16U was led by Brett Postula, who registered two goals. Postula scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 2:17 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Meijer AAA 16U had gotten the advantage when California Titans 16U's San Agustin was sent off for checking from behind. Bradley Postula picked up the assist. Postula's next tally on the power play made the score 2-2 with 17:24 left in the third period. Keaton Jakrzewski assisted on the tally. More assists for Meijer AAA 16U came via Tobin Bachusz and Rayce Jacobs, who contributed one each.

California Titans 16U's Kaltala stopped 36 shots out of the 39 that he faced. California Titans 16U incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors. James Durham rejected 28 shots on goal for Meijer AAA 16U. Meijer AAA 16U incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
