M3-Miami University of failed to take advantage of its power play opportunities and the M3-Tampa-University of Spartans shook off a number of penalties to win, 9-5.

M3-Tampa-University of forced its penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up 10 minors and one major for 45 minutes in penalty time.
