Calgary Inferno holds on for 4-2 win against Les Canadiennes

Calgary Inferno survived a determined comeback attempt by Les Canadiennes on the way to a 4-2 win.

Calgary Inferno made the score 4-1 on a goal by Brianne Jenner at 18 seconds in the third period, and Les Canadiennes got as close as 4-2 when Katia Clement-Heydra scored 14:18 into the third period.

Jill Saulnier had one goal and two assists to lead Calgary Inferno. Saulnier scored on the power play 16:05 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Calgary Inferno. A hooking penalty on Karell Emard had put Calgary Inferno on the power play. Rebecca Johnston provided the assist.

Calgary Inferno kept Les Canadiennes' goalie busy throughout the game, and Charline Labonte made 27 saves on 31 shots.

Calgary Inferno also got points from Johnston, who also finished with two goals and one assist and Jenner, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. More assists for Calgary Inferno came via Brigitte Lacquette, who had one.

Les Canadiennes was held below its usual level of production. Les Canadiennes averages 4.1 goals per game. Les Canadiennes' defense was uncharacteristically lax during the game. Les Canadiennes gives up 1.6 goal per game.
