Poulin, Ouellette lead Les Canadiennes over Brampton Thunder, 5-2

Behind two goals from Marie-Philip Poulin and one goal Caroline Ouellette, Les Canadiennes downed Brampton Thunder 5-2.

Poulin scored the first of her two goals on the power play at 16:06 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Les Canadiennes. Les Canadiennes had gained a power play chance when Jocelyne Larocque was whistled for interference. Julie Chu provided the assist. Poulin's next tally on the power play made the score 4-2 Les Canadiennes with 2:15 left in the third period. Ann-Sophie Bettez assisted on the tally. Ouellette scored short handed 3:14 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Les Canadiennes. Les Canadiennes was on a disadvantage when Karell Emard went off the ice for checking from behind.

Les Canadiennes forced Brampton Thunder's goalies to work between the pipes, racking up 42 shots and forcing 37 saves. Erica Howe made 30 stops and Liz Knox made seven.

Les Canadiennes additionally got points from Lauriane Rougeau, who also registered one goal and one assist and Bettez, who also registered one goal and one assist. More assists for Les Canadiennes came via Kim Deschenes, who had two.

Brampton Thunder was led by Rebecca Vint, who tallied two goals. Vint scored the first of her two goals at 16:16 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Vint's next tally made the score 3-2 Les Canadiennes with 14:15 left in the third period. Brampton Thunder found itself down a man on Courtney Birchard's delay of game.
