Toronto Furies rolls over Boston Blades, 4-1

Toronto Furies had a three-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 4-1 win over Boston Blades.

Toronto Furies was led by goalie Christina Kessler, who finished with 29 saves while allowing one goal. Kessler certainly lowered her goals against average, which was 3.21 entering the contest.

Natalie Spooner was all over the ice for Toronto Furies, as she tallied one goal and two assists in the win. Spooner scored 4:58 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Toronto Furies. Katie Gaskin provided the assist.

Toronto Furies forced Boston Blades goalie Genevieve Lacasse to work between the pipes, taking 40 shots.

Toronto Furies additionally got points from Kelly Terry, who also had one goal and one assist and Alyssa Baldin, who also racked up one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Kori Cheverie also scored for Toronto Furies. More assists for Toronto Furies came via Emily Fulton and Carolyne Prevost, who contributed one each.

Boston Blades managed to stay out of the box better than usual, registering one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Boston Blades ended up below its season average of 7.0 penalty minutes per game.

Boston Blades also got a goal from Megan Shea as well. In addition, Boston Blades received assists from Nicole Giannino, who had one.

Toronto Furies incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Boston Blades' Lacasse stopped 36 shots out of the 40 that she faced. Boston Blades registered zero goals on two power play opportunities.
