Brampton Thunder wins tough contest against Boston Blades, 4-2

In a game where neither team could get a cushion, Brampton Thunder escaped with a 4-2 victory over Boston Blades.

No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Laura Fortino at 9:16 of the third period.

Brampton Thunder was sparked by Candice Styles, who tallied one goal. Styles scored 9:57 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Brampton Thunder. Jess Jones picked up the assist.

Brampton Thunder forced Boston Blades goalie Genevieve Lacasse to work between the pipes, taking 50 shots. Brampton Thunder got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

Brampton Thunder also got points from Fortino, who also had one goal and one assist and Jones, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Jenna McParland also scored for Brampton Thunder. In addition, Brampton Thunder received assists from Courtney Birchard, who had one and Jamie Lee Rattray, who had two.

Boston Blades was helped by Megan Myers, who registered one goal. Myers scored on the power play 14:31 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Brampton Thunder. Boston Blades had gotten the advantage when Brampton Thunder's Whitney Hannah-Horne was sent off for tripping. Erin Kickham assisted on the tally. Boston Blades also got a goal from Sadie St. Germain as well.

Liz Knox recorded 13 saves for Brampton Thunder. Brampton Thunder incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Genevieve Lacasse made 46 saves for Boston Blades on 49 shots. Boston Blades incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
