Brampton Thunder rides Knox to victory over Boston Blades, 4-1

A stellar performance between the pipes by Liz Knox helped Brampton Thunder defeat Boston Blades, 4-1.

Boston Blades' power play was ineffective against Brampton Thunder's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

Brampton Thunder was sparked by Jess Jones, who registered one goal. Jones scored 11:43 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Brampton Thunder. Jamie Lee Rattray provided the assist.

Brampton Thunder excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. Brampton Thunder kept Boston Blades' goalie busy throughout the game, and Genevieve Lacasse made 43 saves on 47 shots. Brampton Thunder could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 14 minutes in penalties during the game.

Brampton Thunder also got points from Rattray, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Brampton Thunder also had goals scored by Rebecca Vint and Jenna McParland, who scored one goal each. In addition, Brampton Thunder received assists from Becca King, who had one.

Boston Blades' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Brampton Thunder power plays.

Boston Blades was led by Tara Watchorn, who scored the team's only goal. Watchorn scored 9:56 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Erin Kickham picked up the assist.

Brampton Thunder's Knox stopped 29 shots out of the 30 that she faced. Boston Blades incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
