Flanagan's hat trick boosts Wilkes-Barre over Roc City, 5-2

Roc City could not stop Wilkes-Barre's Ryan Flanagan, who tallied a hat trick in a 5-2 win.

Flanagan's first goal came 8:22 into the first period. He then added goals at 10:17 into the first and at 13:11 into the third.

Wilkes-Barre was often in penalty trouble, totaling eight minors and one major for 41 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 28.0 minutes per game Wilkes-Barre had been spending in the box. Wilkes-Barre stifled Roc City's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Roc City was unable to stop Wilkes-Barre from sending pucks towards the net, and Wilkes-Barre eventually piled up 31 shots on goal.

Others who scored for Wilkes-Barre included Brett Welsh and Derrick Wruble, who each put in one. In addition, Wilkes-Barre received assists from Stephen Aponik, who had three, Darrin Bruce Jr, Connor Landrigan, and Brett Goldstein, who each chipped in one, and Jackson Goodman and Lucas Ethington, who contributed two each.

Roc City's penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled seven minors and one major for 59 minutes in penalty time. Roc City surpassed its season average of 26.0 penalty minutes per game. Roc City did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. Roc City averages 4.3 goals per game. Roc City struggled on the penalty kill, allowing Wilkes-Barre to score two power play goals on three chances.

Roc City was helped by Sam Cammilleri, who registered one goal. Cammilleri scored 2:51 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Roc City. Anthony DePetres provided the assist. Brandon Corey also scored for Roc City. More assists for Roc City came via Cory Della Stua and Zach Bucholz, who each chipped in one.

Devin Peterson rejected 16 shots on goal for Wilkes-Barre. Ian Stahl recorded 26 saves for Roc City. Roc City registered zero goals on four power play opportunities.
