New York and Skylands were evenly matched throughout their contest, but New York made the most of its opportunities and won, 5-3. New York gained the winning advantage on a goal by Dominick Sacco 7:56 into the third period and hung on until final buzzer. New York was paced on offense by Sacco and Jimmy Warrick, who combined for six points. Sacco registered one goal and two assists and Warrick also notched two goals and one assist. New York excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. New York forced Skylands goalie Mathias Yttereng to work between the pipes, taking 41 shots.
