Lalonde's big game bests Cumberland in 6-4 Cornwall win

Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 18:04 into the second period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts.

Cornwall put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Cumberland to score on any of their five power plays.Colts kept Grads's goalie busy throughout the game, and Ryan Coughlin made 30 saves on 36 shots.Cornwall surpassed their usual scoring output this season. Colts has scored at the pace of 3.4 goals per game during the current campaign.

Cornwall also got points from Tanner Spink, who also registered one goal and two assists and Jeremy McFarlane, who also registered one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Cornwall included Tristan Conrad and Justin McRae, who scored one each. More assists for Cornwall came via Shawn Baird, Brennan Markell, Ross Craig, Jarred McCracken, David A Poirier, and Parker Krol, who contributed one apiece.

Cumberland kept Cornwall 's goalie busy throughout the game, and Brett Nichol made 35 saves on 39 shots.

Grads were led by Cody Kyle, who grabbed two goals and one assist.Kyle scored the first of his two goals at 9:50 into the second period to make the score 5-2 Cornwall . Branden Makara and Joey Sollazzo registered the assists on the goal. Kyle's next tally made the score 5-3 Cornwall in the third period. The goal was assisted by Shawn Cameron and Alex Cote.Cumberland additionally got points from Sollazzo, who also registered one goal and one assist and Cameron, who also registered one goal and one assist. In addition, Cumberland received assists from Cote and Makara, who each chipped in two and Marc-Olivier Bouchard, who had one.

Colts totaled 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 1-for-7 on the power play. Cornwall ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Konnor MacCormick was ejected from the game. Cumberland ended with 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major. For Grads, Matthieu Franche was ejected from the game.
