Brockville rides Cerasuolo to victory over Cornwall, 3-1Ed Lumley Arena Thu, Feb 18, 2016 Story by Narrative Science.
A stellar performance between the pipes by Michael Cerasuolo helped the Brockville Braves defeat the Cornwall Colts, 3-1. Brockville's penalty kill excelled, as the Braves gave up one goal despite allowing six power plays. Brockville was paced by Andrew Jarvis, who finished with one goal. Jarvis scored 2:43 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Brockville. Tre Folkes picked up the assist. Brockville additionally got points from Ian Johnston, who also had one goal and one assist. Brockville also got a goal from Jack Billings as well. In addition, Brockville received assists from Jack Gill and Stuart Fierheller, who contributed one each. Cornwall excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. The Colts could not produce up to their normal offensive output. Cornwall puts an average of 3.4 pucks into the net per game. The Colts' offense rang up 42 shots on the Braves' net. Cornwall was led by Lawson MacDonald, who scored the team's only goal. MacDonald scored on the power play 11:53 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Cornwall. The Colts had gotten the advantage when Brockville's Jarvis was sent off for hooking. Dean Derouchie assisted on the tally. Michael Cerasuolo made 41 saves for the Braves on 42 shots. Brockville incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Liam Lascelle recorded 25 saves for Cornwall. The Colts incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
