Kemptville uses early goal to top Brockville, 2-1

Adam Alavi gave the Kemptville 73s the lead in the first period, and the Brockville Braves was never able to catch up in a close game that ended 2-1.

Alavi provided Kemptville with the game-winning tally when he scored 7:53 into the first period. The 73s had gotten the advantage when Brockville's Andrew Jarvis was sent off for tripping. Owen Guy picked up the assist.

Kemptville was led by goalie Peter Brooks, who finished with 43 saves while allowing one goal. Brooks managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 2.53 prior to the game.

The 73s were led by Cameron Bisson, who finished with one goal. Bisson scored 12:48 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Kemptville. Tyler Beauparlant provided the assist.

Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 8:03 into the second period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts.

Kemptville forced the Braves goalie Henry Johnson to work between the pipes, taking 42 shots.

In addition, Kemptville received assists from Brandon Cole and Dean Kiriacou, who contributed one each.

Brockville did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Braves average 3.3 goals per game. The 73s were unable to stop Brockville from sending pucks towards the net, and the Braves eventually piled up 44 shots on goal.

Brockville was led by Ian Johnston, who scored the team's only goal. Johnston scored on the power play 9:58 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Kemptville. The Braves earned a power play opportunity when Cameron Russell was put in the box for fighting. Jack Billings assisted on the tally.

Kemptville totaled 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 1-for-3 on the power play. For the 73s, Russell was ejected from the game. Johnson recorded 40 saves for Brockville. The Braves totaled 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 1-for-4 on the power play. Brockville ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Tristen Bernard was ejected from the game.
