Cumberland falls to Ottawa in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

The Ottawa Senators pulled out a 3-2 (OT) overtime victory over the Cumberland Grads on a clutch goal by Jody Sullivan.

Ottawa was sparked by Sullivan, who had one goal. Sullivan scored 1:14 into overtime to make the score 3-2 Ottawa. Dean Hewines provided the assist.

Ottawa additionally got points from Alexandre Way, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Ottawa also got a goal from Zachary Cross as well. Other players who recorded assists for Ottawa were Adrien Bisson, Daniel Sarracco, Elie Boulerice, and Geoffrey Lawson, who each chipped in one.

Cumberland could not produce up to its normal offensive output. The Grads put an average of 4.3 pucks into the net per game.

Cumberland was helped by Martin Frechette, who finished with one goal. Frechette scored on the power play 7:35 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Cumberland. The Grads had taken the advantage when the Senators' Jim Pearson got sent off for hooking. Zackhary Salloum picked up the assist. Shawn Cameron also scored for Cumberland. In addition, Cumberland received assists from Matthieu Franche, who had one and Marc-Olivier Bouchard, who had two.

Ottawa's Ian Andriano stopped 24 shots out of the 26 that he faced. The Senators incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Ryan Coughlin rejected 24 shots on goal for Cumberland. The Grads incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
