Huge game by Tugnutt boosts Kemptville over Nepean, 3-1

Behind a great game by Matt Tugnutt, who had one goal and two assists, the Kemptville 73s defeated the Nepean Raiders, 3-1.

Tugnutt scored 11:24 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Kaelan OFlynn provided the assist. Tugnutt dished an assist on Owen Guy's goal that made the score 2-1 Kemptville at 19:08 into the second period. He added another helper on Bobby Dow's goal that made the score 3-1 Kemptville at 18:42 into the third period.

Nepean was unable to stop Kemptville from sending pucks towards the net, and the 73s eventually piled up 45 shots on goal.

In addition, Kemptville received assists from Cameron Russell, who had one and Jason Tackett, who had two.

The Raiders put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Kemptville to score on any of its four power plays.

Nepean was led by Samuel Meisenheimer, who scored the team's only goal. Meisenheimer scored 34 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Nepean. Mike Finger picked up the assist.

Peter Brooks recorded 23 saves for the 73s. Kemptville incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Francis Marotte rejected 42 shots on goal for the Raiders. Nepean totaled 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 0-for-2 on the power play. For the Raiders, Peter Sigouin was ejected from the game.
