Pearson leads Ottawa over Brockville, 6-3

Jim Pearson had two goals and one assist to lead the Ottawa Senators to a 6-3 victory over the Brockville Braves.

Pearson scored at 10:47 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Ottawa and again while 7:55 into the second to make the score 2-2.

Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 7:43 into the third period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts.

Ottawa found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. This season, the Senators average 3.5 goals per contest.

Ottawa also got points from Jody Sullivan, who also tallied one goal and two assists and Luke McCaw, who also had one goal and one assist. Ottawa also had goals scored by Alexandre Way and Mitchell Gibson, who each put in one. In addition, Ottawa received assists from Evan Lindquist, Sean Rappleyea, Greg Meireles, Daniel Sarracco, Zacharie Car, and Elie Boulerice, who each chipped in one.

Brockville's defense let in more goals than it usually has this year. The Braves average 2.5 goals allowed per game.

Brockville was helped by Liam Folkes, who registered one goal. Folkes scored 12:53 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Others who scored for Brockville included Jack Billings and Neil Robinson, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Brockville were Andrew Jarvis, who had one and Ian Johnston, who had two.

Ian Andriano rejected 23 shots on goal for Ottawa. The Senators totaled 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 1-for-3 on the power play. For Ottawa, Gibson was ejected from the game. Henry Johnson made 24 saves for the Braves on 30 shots. Brockville totaled 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 1-for-3 on the power play. The Braves ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Jarvis was ejected from the game.
