Everson's goals lift Hawkesbury to 5-2 victory over Smiths Falls

Behind a great game by Brett Everson, who had two goals, the Hawkesbury Hawks defeated the Smiths Falls Bears, 5-2.

Everson scored at 1:43 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Hawkesbury and again while on the power play 4:09 into the third to make the score 4-1 Hawkesbury.

Hawkesbury's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Smiths Falls power plays.

Hawkesbury additionally got points from Julien Denicourt, who also racked up one goal and two assists to lead the team in points and Chris Smith, who also registered one goal and one assist. Hawkesbury also got a goal from Joe Smith as well. Other players who recorded assists for Hawkesbury were Charles Levesque, Brandon Barillaro, and Jonathan Cyr, who each chipped in one.

Smiths Falls was helped by Michael McKenney, who had one goal. McKenney scored 13:31 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Smiths Falls. Nicolas Coates assisted on the tally. Anthony DiPlacido also scored for Smiths Falls.

Cole Skinner recorded 22 saves for the Hawks. Hawkesbury incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Dyllan Lubbesmeyer rejected 20 shots on goal for the Bears. Smiths Falls incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
