A stellar performance between the pipes by James Edwardson helped the Carleton Place Canadians defeat the Cornwall Colts, 2-1. Carleton Place was led by AJ Klein, who grabbed one goal. Klein scored 18:44 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Carleton Place. Matt Lombardozzi picked up the assist. The Canadians put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Cornwall to score on any of its three power plays. Carleton Place did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Canadians average 4.6 goals per game. The Colts' defense shut down Carleton Place's forwards for much of the game, and the Canadians got off only 14 shots during the contest. Nicolas Carrier also scored for Carleton Place. More assists for Carleton Place came via Connor Merkley and Bryce VanHorn, who each chipped in one. Cornwall was held below its usual level of production. The Colts put an average of 3.2 pucks into the net per game. Cornwall kept Carleton Place's goalie busy throughout the game, and Edwardson made 31 saves on 32 shots. The Colts were led by Dean Derouchie, who scored the team's only goal. Derouchie scored 16:30 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Matthew Morin provided the assist. The Canadians incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Brett Nichol made 12 saves for Cornwall on 14 shots. The Colts incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
