The Kanata Lasers could not stop the Gloucester Rangers' Salim Mahi-Beaudry, who tallied a hat trick in a 4-2 win. Mahi-Beaudry got on the scoresheet 12:14 into the second period. He then added goals at 9:53 into the third and at 19:41 into the third.Kanata's power play was ineffective against Gloucester's penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded. The Lasers were unable to stop the Rangers from sending pucks towards the net, and Gloucester eventually piled up 36 shots on goal. Gloucester additionally got points from Jordan Renaud, who also had one goal and two assists. In addition, Gloucester received assists from Alex Bilodeau, Darcy Walsh, and Shane McCrank, who each chipped in one. Gloucester incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. The Lasers' Alex Butler stopped 32 shots out of the 35 that he faced. Kanata incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
