The Hawkesbury Hawks relied on the scoring touch of Jonathan Cyr, who netted two goals, to beat the Carleton Place Canadians, 3-1.

Cyr found the back of the net 4:14 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Hawkesbury and again while 19:16 into the third to make the score 3-1 Hawkesbury.

Hawkesbury was led by goalie Cole Skinner, who finished with 38 saves while allowing one goal. Skinner certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 2.0 entering the contest.

The Hawks managed to stay out of the box better than usual, finishing with one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Hawkesbury ended up below its season average of 13.0 penalty minutes per game.

Vincent Crivello also scored for Hawkesbury. More assists for Hawkesbury came via Brett Everson, who had two and Mike Finger, Brandon Barillaro, and Ryan Allen, who each chipped in one.

Carleton Place managed to stay out of the box better than usual, tallying one minor for two minutes in penalty time. The Canadians finished below its season average of 16.0 penalty minutes per game. Carleton Place was held below its usual level of production. The Canadians average 4.6 goals per game. Carleton Place's offense rang up 39 shots on the Hawks' net.

The Canadians were led by Vinny Post, who scored the team's only goal. Post scored 10:20 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Lucas Batt assisted on the tally.
