Grant Hebert was all over the ice for the Cumberland Grads, as he tallied one goal and two assists in Cumberland's 6-2 win over the Ottawa Senators. Hebert got on the board by slotting home a power play goal 14:57 into the second period to make the score 3-0 Cumberland. The Grads had gotten the advantage when Ottawa's Zachary Cross was sent off for slashing. Raphael Larose assisted on the tally. Hebert dished an assist on Ted McCabe's goal that made the score 2-0 Cumberland at 4:10 into the second period. He added another helper on Shawn Cameron's goal that made the score 6-2 Cumberland at 16:16 into the third period.Cumberland's penalty kill excelled, as the Grads gave up one goal despite allowing seven power plays. The Senators were unable to stop Cumberland from sending pucks towards the net, and the Grads eventually piled up 35 shots on goal. Cumberland could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 18 minutes in penalties during the game. Cumberland additionally got points from Cameron, who also grabbed two goals and one assist to lead the team in points. Cumberland also had goals scored by Mathieu Dubois and Marc-Olivier Bouchard, who each put in one. In addition, Cumberland received assists from Matthieu Franche, Zackhary Salloum, Adam Dauda, Branden Makara, Michael Larose, Joey Sollazzo, and DAndre John, who contributed one each. Ottawa was led by Jaren Burke, who had one goal. Burke scored on the power play 7:41 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Cumberland. The Senators had gained a power play chance when Benoit Villeneuve was whistled for cross checking. Alexandre Way picked up the assist. Brett Van Stralen also scored for Ottawa. More assists for Ottawa came via Daniel Sarracco, who had one. Thierry Messervier rejected 27 shots on goal for the Grads. Cumberland registered one goal on five power play opportunities. Ian Andriano made 29 saves for Ottawa on 34 shots. The Senators incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
