Behind a great game by Lucas Batt, who had two goals and two assists, the Carleton Place Canadians defeated the Cornwall Colts, 5-4. Batt found the back of the net 1:39 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Carleton Place and again while 8:55 into the third to make the score 5-4 Carleton Place.Carleton Place's offense rang up 34 shots on Cornwall's net. Carleton Place also got points from Vinny Post, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Carleton Place included Bryce VanHorn and Alex Friesen, who each put in one. More assists for Carleton Place came via Nicolas Carrier, who had two and Owen Grant, AJ Klein, Connor Merkley, and Andrew Dodson, who contributed one each. The Colts were led by Lawson MacDonald, who had two goals and one assist. MacDonald scored the first of his two goals short handed at 15:15 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Cornwall. Cornwall found itself down a man on Sebastian Dirven's high sticking. MacDonald's next tally short handed made the score 4-4 with nine seconds left in the second period. Nick Lalonde picked up the assist. Cornwall additionally got points from Tanner Spink, who also registered one goal and one assist. Cornwall also got a goal from David Chevrier as well. In addition, Cornwall received assists from Eric Verville, Matthew Morin, and Brennan Markell, who each chipped in one. Adrian Clark rejected 14 shots on goal for the Canadians. Carleton Place incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. James Edwardson made 29 saves for the Colts on 34 shots. Cornwall incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
