Ottawa falls apart in second, loses to Brockville, 8-0Brockville Memorial Centre Fri, Nov 20, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
The Brockville Braves scored six goals in the second period to pull away from the Ottawa Senators and clinch an 8-0 win. Henry Johnson frustrated Ottawa's offense all game, and stopped 34 shots en route to a shutout. Johnson certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 2.58 entering the contest. Liam Folkes was all over the ice for Brockville, as he tallied two goals and one assist in the win. Folkes scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 14:23 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Brockville. A high sticking penalty on Alexandre Way had put the Braves on the power play. Vincenzo Renda picked up the assist. Folkes' next tally on the power play made the score 8-0 Brockville with 16:09 left in the third period. Cameron Crotty assisted on the tally. Brockville's defensive effort looked to be improved. The Braves average 2.4 goals allowed per game. Brockville bested its season scoring average. The Braves have scored at the pace of 3.3 goals per game during the current campaign. Brockville took advantage of the Senators' penalties, tallying three goals off of four power play opportunities. Brockville additionally got points from Thomas Dunleavy, who also had two goals and one assist. Brockville also had goals scored by Jack Billings, Michael Murray, Neil Robinson, and Eric Faith, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Brockville were Tre Folkes, who had two, Andrew Jarvis, who had four, and Ryan Orgel and Jack Gill, who contributed one each. Ottawa did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Senators average 4.0 goals per game. Ottawa's offense rang up 34 shots on the Braves' net. Brockville incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. The Senators took out Marcus Paulino after he had made 12 saves and installed Ian Andriano in goal, where he finished with six saves and the loss. Ottawa incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
