The Cornwall Colts survived a determined comeback attempt by the Gloucester Rangers on the way to a 3-2 win. Cornwall took a 3-1 lead during the third period, only to have Gloucester storm back on a Salim Mahi-Beaudry goal 18:17 into the third period to pull to one goal down. The Colts were led by Tristan Conrad, who finished with one goal. Conrad scored 2:28 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Cornwall. Dean Derouchie picked up the assist. The Rangers were unable to stop Cornwall from sending pucks towards the net, and the Colts eventually piled up 53 shots on goal. Cornwall also had goals scored by Nick Lalonde and Brennan Markell, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Cornwall were Keegan Mulhearn, Tanner Spink, Matthew Morin, and Jeremy McFarlane, who each chipped in one. Gloucester was helped by Paul Vella, who registered one goal. Vella scored 13:26 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Cornwall. Jordan Renaud provided the assist. Gloucester also got a goal from Drew Shields as well. In addition, Gloucester received assists from Alex Bilodeau, Dan Bates, and Vincent Guimond, who contributed one each. Cornwall's James Edwardson stopped 26 shots out of the 28 that he faced. The Colts incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Doug Johnston rejected 50 shots on goal for the Rangers. Gloucester incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. |
