Nepean rips Kanata, 4-1

The Kanata Lasers had trouble finding ways to stop the Nepean Raiders, which beat Lasers, 4-1.

Nepean was led by PJ Heger, who registered one goal and one assist. Heger scored 5:52 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Nepean. Justin Hess assisted on the tally.

The Raiders kept Kanata's goalie busy throughout the game, and Evan Moyse made 40 saves on 44 shots.

Nepean also got a goal from Jody Sullivan as well. More assists for Nepean came via Rowan Savidant, Evan Lindquist, Hunter Garlasco, Josh Zizek, Ugo Roik, and Luke McCaw, who contributed one each.

The Lasers found themselves short handed often, totaling 16 penalty minutes and allowing five power plays.

Kanata was led by Mike McArthur, who scored the team's only goal. McArthur scored on the power play 1:37 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Nepean. The Lasers had gotten the advantage when Nepean's Garlasco was sent off for hooking. Michael Locatelli picked up the assist.

Jack Ondrovic made 24 saves for the Raiders on 25 shots. Nepean incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Kanata registered one goal on five power play opportunities.
