Nepean wins tough contest against Kemptville, 3-2Nepean Sportsplex Rink 1 Wed, Oct 14, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
The game between the Nepean Raiders and the Kemptville 73s was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Nepean emerged with a 3-2 win. Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Rory Garlasco secured the win for the Raiders with a goal in the third period. Nepean was led by Garlasco, who tallied one goal. Garlasco scored 18:49 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Nepean. Evan Lindquist picked up the assist. The Raiders excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. Nepean also got points from Derek Varrin, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Nepean also got a goal from Luke McCaw as well. More assists for Nepean came via Rowan Savidant, Justin Hess, and Ugo Roik, who each chipped in one. Kemptville was helped by Cameron Russell, who grabbed one goal. Russell scored 1:27 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Matt Tugnutt provided the assist. Quinn Wichers also scored for Kemptville. In addition, Kemptville received assists from Adam Alavi, Owen Guy, and Jason Tackett, who contributed one each. Nepean's Francis Marotte stopped 28 shots out of the 30 that he faced. The Raiders incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Nicholas Hodgins recorded 22 saves for the 73s. Kemptville incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
