Carleton Place downs Pembroke in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

The Carleton Place Canadians' Owen Grant scored 1:27 into overtime to beat the Pembroke Lumber Kings, 4-3 (OT).

Although Carleton Place was up by as many as two goals in the first period, Pembroke kept the game interesting by staging a comeback that ultimately fell short. The Lumber Kings got to within 3-2 on a goal by Cameron Hughes at 14:26 in the third period.

The Canadians got the win on the strength of a great game by Lucas Batt, who had one goal and two assists. Batt scored 3:24 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Carleton Place. Jordan Larson assisted on the tally.

Carleton Place excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in eight chances.

Carleton Place additionally got points from Grant, who also registered one goal and one assist. Carleton Place also had goals scored by Bryce VanHorn and Maxime StPierre, who scored one goal each. In addition, Carleton Place received assists from Nicolas Carrier, Tim Theochardis, and Alex Friesen, who each chipped in one.

Pembroke stifled the Canadians' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

The Lumber Kings were helped by Tyler ONeill, who racked up one goal. ONeill scored 7:49 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Colton Keuhl picked up the assist. Pembroke also got a goal from Brock Rumbaugh as well. Other players who recorded assists for Pembroke were Cale List, Ryan Casselman, Nicolas Vlahos, and Justin Felhaber, who contributed one each.

Colton Point made 17 saves for Carleton Place on 20 shots. The Canadians incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with 11 minors. Gabe Mollot-Hill recorded 18 saves for Pembroke. The Lumber Kings incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
