Cornwall rides Lascelle to victory over Kemptville, 3-1

Liam Lascelle stood on his head and made 38 saves to lead the Cornwall Colts to a 3-1 victory over the Kemptville 73s.

Cornwall was led by Matthew Morin, who finished with one goal and one assist. Morin scored 13:28 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Cornwall. Jeremy McFarlane picked up the assist.

The Colts excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Cornwall forced Kemptville goalie Nicholas Hodgins to work between the pipes, taking 32 shots.

Cornwall also had goals scored by Tanner Spink and Lawson MacDougall, who scored one goal each. In addition, Cornwall received assists from Grant Cooper, who had two and Dean Derouchie and Keegan Mulhearn, who each chipped in one.

The 73s stifled the Colts' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Kemptville did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The 73s average 3.3 goals per game. Kemptville's offense rang up 39 shots on Cornwall's net.

The 73s were led by Owen Guy, who scored the team's only goal. Guy scored 6:11 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Kemptville. Quinn Wichers provided the assist.

The Colts incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Hodgins recorded 29 saves for Kemptville. The 73s incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
