Pembroke's Horn deadly on offense in 3-0 win against Kemptville

Brett Horn was all over the ice for the Pembroke Lumber Kings, as he tallied two goals in Pembroke's 3-0 win over the Kemptville 73s.

Horn scored at 10:36 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Pembroke and again while 12:36 into the first to make the score 2-0 Pembroke.

The Lumber Kings' penalty kill excelled, as Pembroke gave up zero goals despite allowing seven power plays.

The Lumber Kings were often in penalty trouble, totaling 11 minors and three majors for 37 minutes in penalty time. Pembroke surpassed its season average of 24.0 penalty minutes per game. The Lumber Kings stifled Kemptville's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Pembroke's defense was surprisingly good. The Lumber Kings average 2.6 goals allowed per game. Pembroke's offense rang up 33 shots on the 73s' net.

Pembroke also got a goal from Ryan Casselman as well. More assists for Pembroke came via Stephen Cooney, who had two and Cale List, Brandon Zullo, Jesse Blais, and Adam Beveridge, who each chipped in one.

Kemptville forced its penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up 10 minors and three majors for 35 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 19.0 minutes per game the 73s had been spending in the box. Kemptville was held below its usual level of production. The 73s put an average of 3.7 pucks into the net per game.

Gabe Mollot-Hill recorded 22 saves for the Lumber Kings. Pembroke registered one goal on five power play opportunities. For the Lumber Kings, Wesley Ashley, Fraser Turner, and Justin Felhaber were ejected from the contest. Kemptville's Nicholas Hodgins stopped 30 shots out of the 33 that he faced. Team's Quinn Wichers, Tyson Kirkby, and Victor Tracy were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
