Ottawa falls to Brockville in overtime, 4-3 (OT)Brockville Memorial Centre Fri, Oct 02, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
Jacob Moreau gave the Brockville Braves a 4-3 (OT) victory over the Ottawa Senators when he scored 3:38 into the extra period. Brockville overcame a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Braves was down 2-0 after a goal by Ottawa's Jaren Burke at 10:49 in the second period. Brockville tied things up at 3-3 on a power play goal by Liam Folkes at 18:49 in the third period. The Braves pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 12 penalty minutes. Brockville excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. The Braves forced the Senators goalie Marcus Paulino to work between the pipes, taking 37 shots. Brockville additionally got points from Neil Robinson, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Eric Faith also scored for Brockville. More assists for Brockville came via Jack Billings, Vincenzo Renda, and Cameron Crotty, who contributed one each. Brockville was unable to stop Ottawa from sending pucks towards the net, and the Senators eventually piled up 32 shots on goal. Ottawa was helped by Zachary Cross, who racked up one goal. Cross scored 17:22 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Ottawa. Zacharie Car picked up the assist. Ottawa also got a goal from Greg Meireles as well. In addition, Ottawa received assists from William Cullen, Sean Rappleyea, Elie Boulerice, and Jim Pearson, who each chipped in one. Henry Johnson rejected 29 shots on goal for the Braves. Brockville registered two goals on seven power play opportunities. Paulino recorded 33 saves for the Senators. Ottawa incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
