A hat trick by Bryce VanHorn was the highlight in Canadians' 6-2 win against the Cornwall Colts. VanHorn got on the scoresheet 10:59 into the first period. He then added goals at 55 seconds into the second and at 12:48 into the third.The Carleton Place Canadians excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Others who scored for Carleton Place included Owen Grant, Nicolas Carrier, and Jordan Larson, who each put in one. More assists for Carleton Place came via Marcus Joseph, AJ Klein, Kyle Dowdall, Matt Lombardozzi, Brett Murray, Maxime StPierre, and Quinn Pollock, who each chipped in one and Lucas Batt and Andrew Dodson, who contributed two each. Cornwall was led by Tanner Spink, who had one goal and one assist. Spink scored 2:13 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Carleton Place. Dean Derouchie picked up the assist. Nick Lalonde also scored for Cornwall. In addition, Cornwall received assists from Grant Cooper and Tristan Elie, who each chipped in one. Adrian Clark recorded 23 saves for Carleton Place. The Canadians incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Brett Nichol made 21 saves for the Colts on 27 shots. Cornwall incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
