Pembroke rides Green to victory over Kemptville, 2-1

Sean Green stood on his head and made 27 saves to lead the Pembroke Lumber Kings to a 2-1 victory over the Kemptville 73s.

Pembroke was led by Ben VanOoteghem, who had one goal. VanOoteghem scored 19:37 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Pembroke. Fraser Turner assisted on the tally.

The Lumber Kings forced Kemptville goalie Nicholas Hodgins to work between the pipes, taking 37 shots.

Pembroke also got a goal from Ryan Casselman as well. In addition, Pembroke received assists from Jesse Blais, Cale List, and Tyler ONeill, who each chipped in one.

The 73s' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Pembroke power plays. Kemptville was held below its usual level of production. The 73s average 4.4 goals per game.

Kemptville was led by Jason Tackett, who scored the team's only goal. Tackett scored on the power play 18:57 into the second period to make the score 1-1. The 73s had gotten the advantage when Pembroke's Justin Felhaber was sent off for holding. Dean Kiriacou picked up the assist.

The Lumber Kings incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Nicholas Hodgins made 35 saves for Kemptville on 37 shots. The 73s incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
