Belle Tire (MM)'s Doyon deadly on offense in 4-1 win against St. Louis AAA Blues (MM)

Belle Tire (MM) relied on the scoring touch of Riley Doyon, who netted two goals, to beat St. Louis AAA Blues (MM), 4-1.

Doyon found the back of the net 4:25 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Belle Tire (MM) and again while 14:06 into the second to make the score 3-1 Belle Tire (MM).

Belle Tire (MM) was led by goalie Roman Malkov, who finished with 25 saves while allowing one goal. The solid play of Malkov will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 1.48.

Belle Tire (MM)'s penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three St. Louis AAA Blues (MM) power plays.

Belle Tire (MM) additionally got points from Joey Savel, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Michael Hodgson also scored for Belle Tire (MM). In addition, Belle Tire (MM) received assists from Matt Eller, Jonathan Pensler, and AJ Wolfe, who contributed one each.

St. Louis AAA Blues (MM) managed to stay out of the box better than usual, registering one minor for two minutes in penalty time. St. Louis AAA Blues (MM) wound up below its season average of 12.0 penalty minutes per game.

St. Louis AAA Blues (MM) was led by Nick Balestra, who scored the team's only goal. Balestra scored 5:42 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Belle Tire (MM). Patrick Pence picked up the assist.

Belle Tire (MM) incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Jake Barczewski made 26 saves for St. Louis AAA Blues (MM) on 30 shots.
