Anaheim Jr. Ducks (MM) uses shootout to best Pittsburgh Penguins Elite (MM), 3-2 (2-1 SO)

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as Anaheim Jr. Ducks (MM) defeated Pittsburgh Penguins Elite (MM) in a shootout 3-2 (2-1 SO).

The shootout featured eight attempts between both teams. Pittsburgh Penguins Elite (MM)'s shootout goal was scored by Jordan Timmons. In addition to the clincher, Anaheim Jr. Ducks (MM) got a shootout goal from Andre Ghantous.

Anaheim Jr. Ducks (MM) came back from a one-goal deficit to capture the victory. Anaheim Jr. Ducks (MM) trailed 2-1 after a goal by Pittsburgh Penguins Elite (MM)'s Logan Stork at 5:20 in the second period. Anaheim Jr. Ducks (MM) knotted things up at 2-2 on a goal by Julian Timba at 15:35 in the second period.

Anaheim Jr. Ducks (MM) was sparked by Blaise Johnson, who tallied one goal. Johnson scored 2:33 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Anaheim Jr. Ducks (MM). Matthew Poindexter picked up the assist.

Anaheim Jr. Ducks (MM) managed to stay out of the box better than usual, finishing with one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Anaheim Jr. Ducks (MM) wound up below its season average of 13.0 penalty minutes per game. Anaheim Jr. Ducks (MM) got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.
