Behind a great game by Sean Reyes, who had two goals and three assists, East Van Jets defeated That Stick Cray, 6-3.

Reyes found the back of the net 14:46 into the first period to make the score 3-1 East Van Jets and again while 18:39 into the second to make the score 6-3 East Van Jets.

The win gave East Van Jets a 1-0 lead in the best of one series.

East Van Jets forced That Stick Cray goalie Shaun Neufeld to work between the pipes, taking 35 shots. The defensemen of East Van Jets were also effective in That Stick Cray's zone, and came away with three goals.

East Van Jets also got points from Lester Leonor, who also finished with two goals and one assist and David Bagaoisan, who also registered one goal and three assists. East Van Jets also got a goal from Jeremiah Schneider as well. In addition, East Van Jets received assists from Joon Oh, who had one and Carlo Fortugno, who had two.

That Stick Cray was helped by Allan Fan, who tallied one goal. Fan scored 13:47 into the second period to make the score 4-3 East Van Jets. Mahmoud Mitha picked up the assist. That Stick Cray additionally got points from Mitha, who also had one goal and one assist. Mike Lee also scored for That Stick Cray. Other players who recorded assists for That Stick Cray were Jason Siddoo, AlyKhan Virani, Mark Derksen, and Avneet Johal, who each chipped in one.

Michael Chao made 23 saves for East Van Jets on 26 shots. East Van Jets avoided the penalty box for the entire game and scored one goal off of three power plays. That Stick Cray's Neufeld stopped 29 shots out of the 35 that he faced. That Stick Cray incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors and had no power play opportunities.
