Georgetown completes comeback, beats Oakville, 3-2Alcott Tue, Jan 05, 2016 Story by Narrative Science.
The Georgetown Raiders climbed out of a two-goal hole to beat the Oakville Blades, 3-2. Georgetown never led in the game until netting the game winner. The Raiders was down 2-0 after a goal by Oakville's Christian Rajic at 7:26 in the second period. Georgetown tied things up at 2-2 on a goal by Jordan Crocker at 4:02 in the third period. The Raiders scored the game winner at 18:28 in the third period on a goal by Crocker. Georgetown was sparked by Bailey Molella, who racked up one goal. The Raiders kept the Blades' goalie busy throughout the game, and Michael Botiz made 33 saves on 36 shots. Georgetown also got points from Jack Jacome, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. More assists for Georgetown came via Jake Payette, Austin Cho, Brendan Jacome, and Josh Dickinson, who contributed one each. Oakville managed to stay out of the box better than usual, registering one minor for two minutes in penalty time. The Blades finished below its season average of 15.0 penalty minutes per game. Oakville forced Georgetown goalie Andrew Masters to work between the pipes, taking 31 shots. Oliver Benwell also scored for Oakville. In addition, Oakville received assists from Brendan Doherty, Bryce Misley, Paul Butler, and Ryan Garvey, who each chipped in one. Masters rejected 29 shots on goal for the Raiders. Georgetown ended with no penalties and went 0-for-1 on the power play. The Blades registered zero goals on zero power play opportunities.
