The Stouffville Spirit and the Aurora Tigers skate to 2-2 (OT) tie

Stouffville and Aurora could not settle their match and fought to a 2-2 tie.

The Spirit were helped by Nathan Hudgin, who finished with one goal. Hudgin scored 1:12 into the third period to make the score 2-2. Sam Hu assisted on the tally. Jackson Savery also scored for Stouffville. In addition, Stouffville received assists from Chad Burrows, Kyle Thomas, and Ryan DaSilva, who contributed one each.

The Tigers managed to stay out of the box better than usual, racking up one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Aurora ended up below its season average of 17.0 penalty minutes per game. The Tigers' offense rang up 35 shots on Stouffville's net.

Aurora was helped by Liam Neuman, who grabbed one goal. Neuman scored on the power play 10:59 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Aurora. The Tigers had taken the advantage when the Spirit's Hudgin got sent off for high sticking. Drake Board picked up the assist. Aurora also got a goal from Daniel Mantenuto as well. More assists for Aurora came via Kyle Locke, Nolan Dunn, and Ryan Shaw, who each chipped in one.

Aaron Taylor recorded 33 saves for Stouffville. The Spirit incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Aurora's Joshua Boyko stopped 23 shots out of the 25 that he faced. The Tigers registered one goal on four power play opportunities.
