The Orangeville Flyers and the Burlington Cougars skate to 6-6 (OT) tie

Burlington trailed Orangeville by four in the first period, but the Cougars did not give up and the game ended in a tie.

The Flyers forced Burlington goalie Austin Washkurak to work between the pipes, taking 41 shots. Orangeville found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. This season, the Flyers average 3.4 goals per contest. Orangeville could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 34 minutes in penalties during the game.

The Flyers were helped by Ethan Wiseman, who registered one goal and two assists. Wiseman scored 18:18 into the second period to make the score 5-4 Orangeville. Jack Jeffers picked up the assist. Orangeville also got points from Colin Rigney, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Lucas Smilsky, who also finished with one goal and two assists, Derek Topatigh, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Travis Brown, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Jeffers, who also tallied one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. In addition, Orangeville received assists from Josh DeFarias, who had one and Kosta Likourezos, who had two.

The Cougars kept Orangeville's goalie busy throughout the game, and Ruan Badenhorst made 51 saves on 57 shots. Burlington could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 42 minutes in penalties during the game.

The Cougars were led by Mike Faliero, who had one goal and two assists. Faliero scored 18:38 into the third period to make the score 6-6. Tyler Riter assisted on the tally. Burlington additionally got points from Ben Morris, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Riter, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Burlington also had goals scored by Zac Herrmann, Jordan Peacock, and Chris Cobham, who scored one goal each. More assists for Burlington came via Anthony Baxter, who had three and Willy Paul, Nathan Gomes, and Matt Holmes, who each chipped in one.

The Flyers registered four goals on nine power play opportunities. Washkurak recorded 35 saves for Burlington. The Cougars registered four goals on 12 power play opportunities.
