Milton falls to Mississauga in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

The Mississauga Chargers' Mackenzie OMahony scored 1:01 into overtime to beat the Milton Icehawks, 4-3 (OT).

Mississauga's penalty kill excelled, as the Chargers gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays.

Mississauga was paced by OMahony, who tallied one goal.

The Chargers stifled Milton's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Icehawks were unable to stop Mississauga from sending pucks towards the net, and the Chargers eventually piled up 34 shots on goal. Mississauga got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

Mississauga additionally got points from Zachery Ribau, who also registered one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Mississauga included Francesco Luca and Brandon Altman, who scored one goal each. In addition, Mississauga received assists from Kevin Bray, who had one and Mike Tropea and Brandon Yeamans, who each chipped in two.

Milton stifled the Chargers' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Icehawks forced Mississauga goalie Tyler Richardson to work between the pipes, taking 42 shots.

Milton was led by Anthony Filoso, who had two goals. Filoso scored the first of his two goals at 5:36 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Milton. Graeme MacLean assisted on the tally. Filoso's next tally made the score 2-2 with 10:55 left in the second period. Andrew Petrucci picked up the assist. Alejandro Maese also scored for Milton. More assists for Milton came via Jeff Lindsay and Devin Pierce, who contributed one each.

Richardson recorded 39 saves for the Chargers. Mississauga incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. For the Chargers, Luca was ejected from the game. The Icehawks' Jakob DeVincentis stopped 30 shots out of the 34 that he faced. Milton incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
