Toronto Patriots falls to Mississauga in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

The Mississauga Chargers' Mike Choma scored 4:00 into overtime to beat the Toronto Patriots Patriots, 4-3 (OT).

Mississauga overcame a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Chargers trailed 3-1 after a goal by Toronto Patriots' Cole Purboo at 2:37 in the second period. Mississauga tied things up at 3-3 on a goal by Scott Docherty at 15:44 in the second period.

Docherty was all over the ice for the Chargers, as he tallied two goals and one assist in the win. Docherty scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 15:06 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Mississauga had gotten the advantage when the Patriots' Logan Blaser was sent off for holding. Brandon Yeamans assisted on the tally. Docherty's next tally on the power play made the score 3-3 with 4:16 left in the second period. Kevin Bray picked up the assist.

The Chargers forced Patriots' goalies to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, taking 37 shots and forcing 33 saves. Sean OReilly made 10 stops and Jacob Standen made 23. Mississauga put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Toronto Patriots to score on any of its four power plays.

Mississauga also got points from Yeamans, who also tallied one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. In addition, Mississauga received assists from Connor Loft, Alexandros Acosta, Michael Dischiavi, and Brandon Altman, who each chipped in one.

The Chargers were unable to stop the Patriots from sending pucks towards the net, and Toronto Patriots eventually piled up 47 shots on goal. The Patriots found themselves short handed often, totaling 36 penalty minutes and allowing six power plays.

Toronto Patriots was helped by Jeremy Pullara, who finished with one goal. Pullara scored short handed 18:06 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Toronto Patriots. The Patriots found themselves down a man on Nick Stuckless's head contact. Jake Harris assisted on the tally. Toronto Patriots also got a goal from Lee Lapid as well. Other players who recorded assists for Toronto Patriots were Louis DiMatteo, Mario Ferraro, Eric Eremita, and Steven Mounouchos, who contributed one each.

Tyler Richardson rejected 44 shots on goal for Mississauga. The Chargers incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
